Please Pray

So . . . everyone in the world seems to have a blog these days. I figure we'd just jump on the bandwagon, too. It'll just be easier for everyone to hear all the news of Joey and the new baby!

First of all, Joey is doing so great! He is absolutely a MONSTER. He's a cute one, but still a monster. He loves getting into EVERYTHING. Last night Keith loaded the dishwasher and he finally got a chance to see why it takes me forever to do the dishes. For every dish he loaded, Joey would unload at least one.

Joey is still enjoying his spitting game. Neither of us like it very much. It's really hard for us to keep the rug clean in the living room. Luckily, a couple of months ago I packed away our nice rug in the dining room to make a second play area downstairs. I'd completely be crazy if our nice rug was ruined.

Joey is the sweetest baby, though. Yesterday, he just wanted to sit with me and cuddle. I think he knew I was upset. However, he stank so badly from him spitting milk on himself that I was trying not to gag and Keith had to take him from me. He didn't understand why Mama didn't want to snuggle with him.

Yesterday we got new news concerning the baby . . . which, if you didn't know already . . . Keith and I are pregnant, again! We are really excited and our due date is December 5th! Joey's due date was December 1st, so they'll be almost two years apart. There may or may not be complications with the baby. We went in Monday for a sonogram and the baby seems perfectly healthy. The baby was measuring in weight and length perfectly and was positioned perfectly. When the baby was on the monitor Keith asked Joey if that was his little brother and he shook his head no . . . so, I guess it's his little sister! However, yesterday I was told there was a 50% chance that there could be some potential problems. It's very scary and I called Keith on the phone just bawling. Joey and I were on our way to go walk with my friend Bethany and his friends Luke and Nicolas when the doctor called. So, I know that there are friends already praying for us and I know that God has His plan.

Last night, I just surrendered. There is nothing I can do but pray. So, I gave it to God and I had such a peaceful sleep last night. I seriously have not slept this well in a long time. I feel fine and I know that God will do what He knows is best. The doctor had reminded me to take heart in the fact that the baby was so well Monday. I will be calling the doctor later on today to see if there are any tests she wants taken. I am scheduled for another sonogram Monday. I will keep everyone posted. In the meantime . . . PRAY! Pray that God's will be done. Selfishly, I want a healthy baby. Keith and I weren't expecting a 2nd child. Since we found out last week about the pregnancy, though, we've already accepted the idea of a growing family and come to love this baby with all of our heart. So, it would be a very difficult situation if God has decided to take the baby before he/she even enters the world. I know that God is good, though, and He knows what is best for everyone. He is always at work for the good of His people. We are just trusting in Him.

I'll keep everyone posted after I talk to the doctor later on today. Right now, I've got to go wake Joey. It's time for breakfast. That's right . . . it's oatmeal and yogurt this morning.
