First pair of glasses:
When she first put her glasses on she was able to notice a stuffed animal in the corner of the office and looked at me with her wide eyes exclaiming, "I can see far! Mommy, these are my far glasses! I can see far!" Brought to tears, I am very grateful she is able to see more clearly and hope she takes a little more consideration noticing new surroundings.
We've gotten a lot of compliments on her glasses, the best one saying that her glasses were so pretty they were more of an accessory than a necessity. Clarissa really enjoys her glasses and we've had no problem keeping them on her all day.
First day of school:
Clarissa had not one nervous bone in her body going into school. She wanted to wear Keith's Texas Tech hat (for some weird reason she has a strong attachment to this particular hat) and literally was talking as she walked through the door about her TTU hat and what it looked like.
She seemed eager to share with me about her day at school. This is unusual for me because Joey still isn't a big fan of sharing about his days. She told me about every toy she played with, the many new friends she has, snack time, and the fact that she apparently got asked to a playdate . . . by a boy.
First teeth cleaning:
I either did something brilliant today or extremely idiotic. Luckily, it worked in my favor. I scheduled Joey's bi-annual teeth cleaning with Clarissa' first cleaning. She did absolutely fantastic. I ended up having to sit in the chair with her and we found out she doesn't like cherry flavored toothpaste, but other than that she did everything they had hoped she would do and more. Apparently, she is a pro gurgler. Who knew that kids being able to gurgle was such a hard feat to master?
Let's not forget about my big little man. He seriously is the greatest helper. Last week I had the flu and you know how you think the world should just stop because you feel like poo? It didn't. However, Joey really stepped up and helped me with Clarissa and around the house. Thank you, baby kangaroo!
