Please Remember Me

Keith and I were discussing the other night that we should really write some of the stuff down concerning our kids. I'm not so good at the baby books. Though, my kids aren't babies anymore. :( So, I'm trying to make sure that I'm better at writing down random things that Keith and I hope we don't forget.

#1

For some weird reason Joey is obsessed with the idea of marriage. He's pretty bummed that he won't get to marry me. He wants to know NOW who his wife will be. All he knows is that he'll get married when he's about twenty-five to a young lady that will be his best friend.

Forgive me if I've already shared this cute story with you. Joey asked me if I had asked Keith to marry me or if Keith asked me to marry him. I told him Keith asked me. Joey had the most pensive look on his face and promptly asked what my response was.

#2

Clarissa LOVES dinosaurs. She is convinced that I kissed a frog and he turned into Keith. She is also convinced that she will not kiss a frog. She will kiss a dinosaur. She doesn't even care if he turns into a prince. She just loves dinosaurs.

#3

Joey has recently become girl CRAZY. We always leave our TV on when we eat dinner. Judge me if you want, but hearing people eat is gross. We were talking over dinner and all of a sudden Joey got us to be quiet. We all turned towards the TV and it was for an online college. He LOVES the spokesperson. He told us that he thinks she's very pretty.

Just the other day it was on, again, and Keith asked Joey if that was his (meaning Keith's) girlfriend. Joey quickly answered, "Oh no, Daddy, she's mine!"

#4

This is a gross one, but the other day while Joey was taking a bath I was sitting on the toilet waiting on him when all of a sudden he tooted the biggest toot known to man. I looked over to him and he just slowly yelled, "That was AWESOME!" He's so gross.

#5

Keith has had a couple interesting meetings lately. He had dinner with Al Sacco, a former astronaut, and he had a coaching class with Doug Carroll, a former MLB player. He was like a kid on Christmas morning.

Watch This

Last semester I had a project making a family video. I opted to make a five generation video of Keith's side of the family. The video is pretty long and I really enjoyed making it. I won't bore you with it . . . but it is pretty interesting. We had a Q&A with all generations and hearing the differences in technology, religions, and politics is pretty amazing.

Anyway, I ended up making a recap of 2010 with my kids and their friends and we watched it New Year's Eve. My subscription expired, but I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and buy the software for video editing software. So, without further ado, here is what I've made so far for the upcoming Truman 2011 recap video.

Oh my Darling, Clementine!

With the recent time change both Joey and Clarissa have started sleeping in more and more. It can be nice, but it just seems to be more of a hassle than anything. We've missed two Bible Studies and last Saturday we missed Clarissa's ballet class. So, today Clarissa and I went to a makeup class while Joey was in school. Usually after her classes, we head to Honey Dew, but today we just came home and took some pictures of her in her ballerina outfit.

Don't let her fool you. She still loves the dinosaurs. Please take notice that the dinosaur is dressed in the tutu my mother made for her.

Okay . . . . now for the random question and giveaway. What place has the best donuts? Remember, the first CORRECT answer gets a little something in the mail from the Trumans.

Over the Rainbow

St. Patrick's Day brought beautiful weather. We took advantage by taking a nice, long walk with our friends and Levi. We are ready for full-time warm weather!

On another note, I think I may have lost some of my audience on the blog (a large part due to the fact I don't update regularly and we have boring lives). I was thinking of doing another contest. What do you think? It's simple. I ask you a question. The first to respond correctly gets a little something in the mail from the Truman's.

Closer to the Edge

We're so close! I can almost taste it! Spring is so close and I'm so very ready for it! Our snow is finally starting to melt and the temperatures are no longer frigid.

This afternoon Joey asked if we could go play outside and I agreed. The weather is in the mid forties, but it feels like summer compared to how it has been. Said impromptu play outside caused me a bit of "bad momminess." (I know it's not a word, you just need to understand that the end result was me feeling like a horrible mother)

Joey and Clarissa go to the same school, have the same teacher, get dropped off at the same time, but go on different days and get picked up at different times. I picked up Clarissa twenty minutes late and didn't realize until I parked in the usual spot I pick up Joey. He asked why we were parked there and suddenly I panicked. I peeled out of the spot and saw Clarissa with her teacher waiting by the school door. I felt like The. Worst. Mother. EVER. The teacher waved me off, laughing at my mistake . . . but I felt horrible. I still feel horrible. I called Keith crying afterward and have already emailed the teacher apologizing, again.

Anyway, back to spring and the beautiful weather, Joey and Clarissa after school decided they both wanted to take advantage of the weather and play some more.

Have I mentioned I feel like a horrible mother?

Young and Beautiful

This past week consisted of many firsts for Clarissa.

First pair of glasses:

When she first put her glasses on she was able to notice a stuffed animal in the corner of the office and looked at me with her wide eyes exclaiming, "I can see far! Mommy, these are my far glasses! I can see far!" Brought to tears, I am very grateful she is able to see more clearly and hope she takes a little more consideration noticing new surroundings.

We've gotten a lot of compliments on her glasses, the best one saying that her glasses were so pretty they were more of an accessory than a necessity. Clarissa really enjoys her glasses and we've had no problem keeping them on her all day.

First day of school:

Clarissa had not one nervous bone in her body going into school. She wanted to wear Keith's Texas Tech hat (for some weird reason she has a strong attachment to this particular hat) and literally was talking as she walked through the door about her TTU hat and what it looked like.

She seemed eager to share with me about her day at school. This is unusual for me because Joey still isn't a big fan of sharing about his days. She told me about every toy she played with, the many new friends she has, snack time, and the fact that she apparently got asked to a playdate . . . by a boy.

First teeth cleaning:

I either did something brilliant today or extremely idiotic. Luckily, it worked in my favor. I scheduled Joey's bi-annual teeth cleaning with Clarissa' first cleaning. She did absolutely fantastic. I ended up having to sit in the chair with her and we found out she doesn't like cherry flavored toothpaste, but other than that she did everything they had hoped she would do and more. Apparently, she is a pro gurgler. Who knew that kids being able to gurgle was such a hard feat to master?

Let's not forget about my big little man. He seriously is the greatest helper. Last week I had the flu and you know how you think the world should just stop because you feel like poo? It didn't. However, Joey really stepped up and helped me with Clarissa and around the house. Thank you, baby kangaroo!

Boot Scottin' Boogie

The only things happening in the Truman household is snow, more snow, and everyone getting sick. Perhaps I'll have something more interesting to post later.
