Thursday morning we called my dad to wish him a happy birthday. Here's our conversation:
Me: Daddy, happy birthday! Gosh, you're old!
(I notice Joey glaring at me)
Joey: MY DADDY is not old!
Me: No . . . my daddy is old. Your grandpa . . . well, he's old.
My dad: I'm not old! I quit aging at thirty-nine.
Me: Well, that's still old.
Friday morning we called both Terra and Nicolas to wish them happy birthday's. Joey asked Terra if he could have some birthday cake. The conversation with Nicolas was absolutely ADORABLE! I can't believe Joey is getting so big. Yolanda answered the phone and Joey asked if he could please speak with Nicolas. He told him happy birthday, sang to him, and told him he loved him. Love it.
So, I have a few questions. At what age do you decide you're staying a certain age? If I decide that age is past thirty-nine . . . does it make me older than my dad? My parents have been married thirty-seven years. Does that mean my dad was just two when they got married?
Here are the kids enjoying themselves at Nick's party.
Happy birthday, April babies!
