Hampton Beach

Wow, what an awesome Saturday we had! We left around five o'clock p.m. and got to the Hamptons around six! It was great! Traffic was not bad at all and we found parking pretty quickly. Every summer solstice they have a sand sculpting contest and today they were judging and having fireworks afterwards. So, we were able to look at all of them and they were all amazing! Then, we went down to the beach for Joey to look at the water . . . only, when he saw the water he ran into the water! He loves water! The water was freezing! We weren't planning on him actually going into the beach water, but luckily we had a swimmie with us. He would have stayed in the water the rest of the evening, but we decided not to let him freeze.

Then, we went on the boardwalk and just had fun! They have a huge arcade and Joey got to play wheel of fortune and the slot machines! He was really good at the slot machines and he was able to get some tickets and got a few prizes! After we left the arcade we got Keith and Joey some fried dough (same thing as funnel cake only shaped differently) and Joey LOVED it. I think the two shared it pretty equally. MMM. Must have been good. I was able to get a corn dog. How amazing is that. I haven't had a corn dog in over a year. It definitely wasn't up to par with corn dog 7, but it was still good. Joey and Keith ended up sharing a cheese dog, though, we were expecting that to be different. We thought it was a cheese dog from like the food court in Amarillo, but it was just a hot dog with cheese on it. I figured since we bought it was the corn dog that's what it would be. I guess that's what we get for assuming.

After Joey's tummy settled from all the yummy, unhealthy food Keith and Joey went to go play on the playground they had on the beach and shortly after it was time for the fireworks! We were so afraid that Joey would be afraid, but he ended up LOVING it. He smiled and clapped and had so much fun! Whew, what an exhausting day, huh???
