I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! This is my absolute favorite holiday and it was so weird having 65 degree weather for it. I'm used to 90 or better - but we still had fun. We had a 4th of July party at our house with some of our friends. It's really great being able to just spend time with everyone. Some of our friends we haven't seen in so long and it was so special seeing them! We also had new friends come this year.
I do miss the fireworks, though. MA doesn't allow fireworks (except popped by professionals). The 4th just isn't the same without the risk of catching a field on fire. Ahhhh, at least we had the yummy barbecue. Keith did AWESOME on the steaks and chicken. Y-U-M-M-Y. However, Joey told me my potato salad was yucky and didn't even want it on the same plate as his chicken. Apparently, it was contaminated and immediately needed to be placed on a new plate - one without yucky potato salad.
The kids were able to play rough and tough yesterday. It had rained in the morning so we still had several puddles in the backyard. Joey also got into the sand. So, we concluded our evening with Joey, Luke, and Nicolas needing to take a bath together. My tub was DISGUSTING!
The babies were much more well behaved than the boys. CJ and Grace played mostly in their exercausers. Clarissa, of course, ate like crazy! She had some of the yummy steak, chicken, and a cookie. That girl loves to eat.
Keith now has a new game he'd like to buy for the backyard. The Hadley's brought over their game bocce. The husbands all had fun playing together while the wives all sat around eating the yummy desserts (of course not made by me).
All in all - it was a really great day! The weather was perfect for outdoors and everyone had fun. So, happy 4th of July!
