Here we go, again!

Joey gave me such a scare today. After returning from a few errands this morning I opened the front door and Joey came running inside. He was just in an excited mood and wasn't paying attention and ending up hurting himself. He tripped over the bottom of the baby gate between the foyer and living room. He ended up flying into the coffee table. I instantly heard the "thud" and then the "cry." I just thought he'd bonked his head and when he came into the foyer I saw blood just flowing profusely. I WAS SO SCARED! I made sure I was calm; I didn't want him to get more upset. We were able to get into the pediatrician quickly. He was such a brave boy and behaved very nicely for the doctor. Luckily, he didn't need stitches. Whew! I was so worried about my little man. Anyway, here is a picture of him. Sorry about the fuzziness; he can't stand still for one minute and he's really into telling me that he doesn't want pictures taken of himself.

I guess this just adds to the list of memories I have with each kid. Keith and I were talking about just random things the kids used to do. We never got around to recording them and I wish I had! For instance, when I was pregnant Joey used to walk around pretending he was me by sticking his belly out as far as he could. Clarissa used to say the sweetest "ah's" after sneezing. It's not just things they did, but other things that I forgot to record or even take pictures. I was in labor with Joey for so long that by the time he finally came out he not only had a cone head (expected) but his ears were flopped down. I remember stuffing his ears in his caps to make sure they "grew upwards." It only last a couple of days, but I was still so certain that his ears were going to look like Yoda's. Clarissa was born with the crookedest little toes. They were absolutely adorable, but those quickly went away, too. I just never thought of taking pictures. Now, she's got her daddy's long toes . . . and appetite.

Also, I wanted to give you an update on Debbie. She had her heart surgery today and things went well. Thanks, everyone, for all the prayers. Hopefully, she'll be released from the hospital tomorrow. Keep praying for a full and quick recovery.
