Typical evening

This evening I tried something new with Clarissa. I read an article saying a great sensory and fine motor skills boost is a plain piece of foil paper. I HATED IT! Clarissa has never been one to shred things to pieces. We have pictures of Joey around six months or so just sitting on the couch SHREDDING a whole magazine. I bet Joey would have liked this, but it just wasn't for Clarissa. EVERYTHING always ends up in her mouth, so I almost had a heart attack when she finally did tear the paper and put it in her mouth. When will she grow out of this stage? Tonight while the kids were coloring I swear she ate a whole crayon. Joey never did this. So, Moms, how much longer?

I haven't even attempted to let her play with play-dough. She loves the bottle it comes in and while Joey's playing with the dough, she's just excited to be opening and closing the jar.

She is into puzzles, though. Joey got into puzzles a lot later. Joey was over two when he finally enjoyed puzzles. Clarissa has been playing with them for a while and is starting to master a puzzle with the basic shapes. Tonight, I brought down one of Joey's old wooden puzzles that makes noise. You know the kind. When you put them in the correct spot, they make a noise. OH MY GOSH! I forgot how much these got on my nerves! Clarissa enjoyed it and Joey had a blast playing with it, again, but these are the most annoying puzzles. I also forgot to mention if the pieces aren't exactly in the right position at night time they go off until you fix them perfectly. ANNOYING!

Bath time is always fun, though. How is it I end up soaking wet? Anyway, I got some great pictures of the kids having fun in the tub tonight.
