Oh, those summer nights!

Our town seriously is awesome. Every year they host a summer night celebration. It's supposed to happen early in the summer to help kick off the season, but since we've averaged rain every other day they postponed it until last night. It was so much fun and worth the wait! I'm not sure why we've not gone in the past, but I know we'll make sure to go every year.

Everything was free to make it even better! (Well, except the food) They had pony rides (Joey wasn't too impressed with those), bubbles, jumpers, rock walls, and much more! The bubbles were probably the funnest. The firemen set up the water hose with soap to blow bubbles. It was so much fun for the kids.

After all the festivities, they had fireworks. I'm so happy we got to see fireworks! (Though, Texas Tech homecoming bonfires seriously still have the best fireworks) We didn't see any fireworks for the 4th of July and everyone knows that's my favorite holiday. Actually, the summer nights really reminded me of the fair on the square in Canyon. The kids loved it just as much as I did . . . and of course Keith. I wasn't sure how Clarissa would be about the fireworks, but she was fine. Actually, they relaxed her. She started falling asleep halfway through until I sat her back up only for her to laugh and clap a while. Then, she laid her head back down and tried falling asleep.

Here's Joey being tortured and riding on a pony. Poor guy . . . didn't like it one bit.

CJ wondering why we were torturing Joey and putting him on that big, funny animal
Joey loving the bubbles . . . thanks Southborough Fire Department!
CJ not too happy about Joey putting bubbles on her
I promise, Clarissa did have a great time!

We left part way through the festival to go grab something other than super greasy pizza to eat. No . . . I'm not trying to sound like super mom . . . we had pizza the night before. As we were driving home Keith noticed a lady staring at a bird and it was ENORMOUS! Since (luckily) we had our camera with us we were able to get some pictures. We did a little research and it turns out it was a red tail hawk. Craziness.
