Monday's

Monday's are always kind of hectic. For the past few weeks we've been getting together with some friends of ours for breakfast. It's been really nice. I'm able to have "adult" time with my friends while Joey hangs out with his friends. It's always at someone's house, so the kids can pretty much run wild. It's really nice. Afterwards, I try to get Joey down for a nap and wake him up in time for lunch and then his visit from Dzintra. Today, though, I ended up staying a little longer than planned at Sue's and Joey didn't nap but maybe 30 minutes. I was sure that he was going to be rotten. Luckily, he was an absolute angel! He did so great and played so well with Dzintra. He crashed as soon as she left of course.

He played "pretend" with Dzintra today and it was adorable! She has a toy that is fake vegetables, a cutting board, and knife. Joey would cut the vegetables (through the velcro) and they would pretend they were eating it. He was sooo cute with her! Then, he picked up a cup and acted like he was drinking water, too. So adorable.

This weekend was nice. I don't really recall what we did . . . I'll blame it on the pregnancy. We were able to sleep in yesterday, though. I feel like taking a nap right now. Unfortunately, I've got to finish an assignment for one of my classes and then I'll really think about it afterwards.

Oops!

I know, I know . . . it's been a while since I updated the blog AND I know it's been a while since I uploaded new pics. I can explain myself! We had Keith's doctor appointment and I also had a dentist appointment last week. On Saturday we went to our good friends Gwen and Eric's wedding and I after that didn't know where the camera was until today. It turns out Keith placed it on the bookshelf on top of the stairs. Hmmm, why didn't I look there?

First things first, Keith is doing great. Unfortunately, we received no answers as to why he fainted, but they did rule out several things. It was not caused by dehydration, heart problems, any allergic reactions, asthma, or diabetes. That's great news! The doctor thinks that maybe it was just a weird fluke and she doesn't think it'll happen, again. I'm holding him to that. He sure did give me quite a scare!

Joey is doing great. We've started a new thing with a few friends of Monday breakfast and we're loving it! We get to eat some good food and Joey gets to play with his friends afterwards. This week was our week to host it and I made eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, and we also had some fruit, pumpkin bread, and blueberry bread. MMMMM. Just thinking about it makes me hungry, again!

For the past few days Joey and I have been immobile. Keith moved the trans am in front of my car and I can't move it. Ugh. It's not like I've had anywhere really to go, but just knowing that I can't leave really gives me cabin fever. So, this afternoon I got Joey in his stroller and we took a LONG walk. There's really not a place to walk around here and now my feet are killing me! It felt more of like a hike than anything. We walked to St. Mark's and played on the playground there. Which, is not a public playground. It turns out that a husband and wife with kids are the RA's at the dorm there. The wife was gracious and let us play, but I sure did feel dumb. How retarded would you feel if you went over to some random person's yard and started playing? I really felt so dumb! Joey had fun, though, and didn't mind playing on someone else's playground. After St. Mark's we walked over to the library and read a book. By this time, I know if I don't hurry up and get headed home that I'm not going to make it. So, we had the long hike of walking back from the library to home. It wouldn't have been so bad if there were sidewalks or if the ground was level. Oh well, it was nice to get out of the house and healthy for us all!

I am SEVEN MONTHS pregnant today! Crazy, huh? I can't believe how time flies. I got for a checkup in a couple of weeks, so I'll keep you posted!

Doctor, doctor!

This weekend was Labor Day Weekend and it was nice having Keith home for four days! It was a pretty relaxing weekend until Sunday. On Saturday night Keith had complained that his back was a little sore and on Sunday morning he had road crew up at church. When he got back Sunday morning right after he said his back was really starting to bother him, but he figured he would be fine finishing it up later after church. Only by the grace of God did we decide for me to pick him up from road crew. We had planned on going to go eat at Moe's afterwards with the Robinson's. When I picked him up from church he was sweating pretty hard and he said his back was now killing him.

On the way to Moe's we put all of the vents on Keith to try to cool him down and about half way there he said he was feeling better other than his back hurting him. So, I had told him not bother holding Joey. Luckily, I was holding Joey and once we walked inside the restaurant Keith turned to me and told me that he wasn't feeling well at all. He looked super pale and I thought he was going to get sick. I asked if he was okay and he told me, again, that he wasn't feeling well and was going to the car. I told him that was fine. I would just order our food and we'd call our friends from the car telling them that we had to leave. Well, as Keith started walking towards the door he fell and fainted! I was so scared! I always think of Keith as my big, strong man and it was so weird seeing him on the floor.

The people at Moe's ended up calling 9-1-1 and the paramedics were there in a jiffy. They checked his vitals and told him that they just weren't sure what happened. They thought he was dehydrated, but all the signs pointed elsewhere. Just then our friends walked in the restaurant . . . or rather, I noticed them standing next to me. Thank goodness they were there! They saved us! They were able to watch Joey while I took Keith to the ER. After several hours and tests, they're still not sure what caused it. They're thinking dehydration, but, again, all of the tests came back normal. Just scary!

Today, Keith is feeling much better. He's so stubborn and did not really rest that much. For the most part, though, we did have a relaxing day. We had a cookout at our friend's house, the Hadley's, and came back home and we all took a nap. I just really wish Keith would give into my wishes and take tomorrow off work!

I'll be able to call our doctor tomorrow to set up an appointment . . . so, everyone please remember to keep Keith in your prayers!

MMMM - Corn!

Joey has always LOVED vegetables. When he first started eating solids I made sure that I started him on vegetables and eventually fruits. From the beginning he only wanted vegetables. Apparently, fruits weren't that great. It was months after he started on gerber's baby food that he finally started liking applesauce and apricots! Now, the only fruits he really likes are cantaloupe and occasionally apple (on very rare occasion will he eat apple). Tonight for dinner I made barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. Recently, Joey had his first corn on the cob at Chili's on Keith's and my birthday. So, I figured he would really like some tonight before they are totally out of season. He spotted the corn first and only wanted corn. He threw a HUGE fit. Unfortunately, the corn was too hot. So, I had to make him some green beans pretty quick. He ate a ton of green beans, mashed potatoes, and eventually corn for dinner. He didn't even bother with the chicken. Oh well, at least he ate a lot of vegetables! I just hope that he still enjoys vegetables when he gets older and always eats them!

Well, my doctor's appointment went well yesterday. Keith wasn't able to make it after all and Joey looked for him. He knows that Keith is always there and kept asking for him. He did okay, though. I was afraid that he'd be a total monster. Anyway, I gained another five pounds! I'm up to thirteen pounds! Woo hoo! Two more pounds and I'm at the hundred mark! Next visit will be emotional. My doctor will be leaving and we're meeting our new doctor. Rochester, NY is just 4 hours away . . . I think my doctor should make an effort to come and deliver this baby! Ugh, you don't always get what you want.

Not much happening

Keith got back from Indiana Friday afternoon and we were just able to relax this weekend together. We went to the park as soon as he got back from his trip and Joey was so excited to show him everything at the park. It has been a while since Keith has been able to go with us. Joey now loves sliding a lot and playing in the club house. He was never too interested in either of those before.

This last week the weather was pretty cool. We noticed the leaves have already started turning. I'm a little sad. Summer sure did seem to go by quickly. Joey will be sad once it's cold. He loves going outside so much and he's not going to like being inside. Maybe we can buy him a little slide to make up for it. Speaking of toys . . . Joey is such a nut! Saturday we went shopping and we found a play guitar for Joey. When Joey was three months he picked out his first toy on his own . . . a play guitar. So, he must have a thing for guitars. Well, he was playing with this in the store pretty good when Keith showed him a play gun. Whether you think that toys guns are suitable for kids or not this is a pretty cool gun! Joey was having a hard time deciding which toy he wanted. He would play with one and turn right around and play with the other. We ended up buying both. I had figured that he would have forgotten about the toys, but I left them on his table in the kitchen. He pulled out the gun and made Keith open the box. Since the guitar was a little more expensive and it is getting close to time to start saving stuff for his birthday we had decided we'd keep the guitar hidden. That didn't work. He grabbed that box, too, and made Keith open it. By the way, the two toys are only boy toys! He does not like me playing with those toys with him at all! Any other toy is fine, like his new whack/a/ball toy. By the way - he's crazy with a hammer and knows how to use it!

I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Keith tries to make all of the appointments with me and has so far and did with Joey, but he'll probably miss tomorrow's. He received an email late Friday (after he landed he had to run up to work real quick just to check his email and stuff) and they're having a meeting early tomorrow morning. They said that it was an award of some kind. I'm so proud of him! He's such a hard worker. I know I give him a hard time telling him that sometimes he doesn't work, but he really is a hard worker and a wonderful husband and father. It wouldn't be such a big deal for him missing an appointment, but tomorrow's has me doing blood work. Yuck! Actually, I don't mind needles, but I'm just worried about Joey. I'll have to figure out a way to keep him preoccupied for an hour! I should get my rest, now! So, with that said - I think I'm heading off to bed. I'll post sometime soon to give everyone an update on the baby!

So cute!

For one of my baby showers I had with Joey a sweet, kind lady had gotten Joey these overalls. I had totally forgotten about them until Saturday night I went into the playroom's closet and saw it hanging there. The length was just a little too short, but he still looked absolutely adorable! We put him in his boots for church and it's always so funny watching him walk in those. He walks bowlegged. Boots are just hard to walk in unless you actually live in Texas.

We were able to spend this evening with some friends of ours Yolanda and Arturo. They have a sweet baby boy named Nicolas. I'm sure I've mentioned them before. It was really nice just hanging out last night and relaxing. Keith, of course, really enjoyed all of the food!

I have my next doctor's appointment next Monday. It's the glucose test. MMM, the orange drink. I was so nervous about that test last time. Not because I thought I could have diabetes, but because everyone told me that it was the worst drink ever. It's definitely not a favorite of mine, but it's not bad.

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Keith got back into town last night a little after ten o'clock and today we're just relaxing! Well, at least I am. Keth and Joey are mowing the yard and just spending time together. Joey really missed Keith and was super excited to see him this morning! While Keith and I were laying in bed listening to Joey Keith whispered Joey's name. Joey stopped to listen and then said, "Mom." Then, Keith whispered his name, again. This time Joey yelled, "MOM!" in a super irritated voice! Apparently, he thinks I can throw my voice to sound like Keith. He was pleasantly suprised to see that it was actually Dad!

The baby is moving around a TON. I never felt Joey move around this much! I think we decided on a name. What does everyone think of the name Clarissa Jade? It'll be cute if she's a tomboy, because she can go by "CJ." I had suggested Clarissa Joy, but Keith really likes Jade for a middle name. I think it has a nice ring to it. Clarissa Jade Truman.

This weekend in Massachusetts is tax-free weekend. It's a bit different from Texas' weekend. Here, almost anything under $2,500 is tax-free! Crazy, huh? Honestly, though, I don't understand why people rush out and stand in long lines. Our tax rate is only 5%. I can imagine going out if they're having a really good sale or something, but people will stand in long lines to spend $100 in clothes (which are always tax-free)! Oh well. I guess some people enjoy battling the crowds.

I will be going into my SIXTH MONTH of pregnancy this Wednesday! Holy, moly! I can't believe I'm that far along! I still haven't gained much weight and I just still feel newly pregnant. I've got a bump, but definitely not a tummy like I did with Joey. CRAZY! I feel like I'm going to go into shock when I have this baby. It doesn't feel like she'll be here so soon. Gosh, I really hope Joey isn't mad at me! I keep telling him that's he's always going to be my baby, but I don't think he understands that he'll be a big brother. I guess he'll be in shock, too!
