Here was Clarissa's dress rehearsal for her ballet recital, and poor little girl was miserable. At this point in 2012, Clarissa was dealing with high fevers every couple of weeks running on average of about 103 running for 5 days at a time. There were no other symptoms. We ended up taking Clarissa to Children's Hospital in Boston where we saw a total of 21 doctors! One of those was an infectious disease doctor . . . talk about scaring me! I mean, this is like Dr. House stuff. I did find out that an infectious disease doctor does not recommend organic food unless you actually know where its grown and how its grown. So . . . there's no organic food in this house! They officially diagnosed her with periodic fever syndrome. Basically, they had no idea what was causing her fevers and other cases had those affected dealing with it for years. We ended up opting to having her tonsils and adenoids extracted later in the summer (after dealing with this for over a year). Thankfully, the surgery worked (which was totally experimental), and hasn't dealt with this since. PRAISE GOD!
Anyway, here she is at her dress rehearsal feeling pretty crummy but looking adorable. (She had gotten special permission from numerous doctors that she could participate in activities since this is a non-contagious disease).
